I have an ART MPA II preamp with adjustable impedance. I suppose the easy answer is just to set it at what the factory says the mic is rated for but I wonder if there's another reason they give you the option to adjust? I have preamps that are better than this unit but none of them have adjustable impedance. I've never seen this before. Any ideas?
I am also looking for the same answer!
The only reason i'm here is because of my Art Voice Channel LOLOL wtf does this knob do dam it! hahaha@@AlanSamuel
So what's the best microphone to use to pick up refrigerant leaks in a refrigeration system? So I'm wondering the very faint leaves that you normally can't hear, what's the best microphone to use in something like this? I appreciate your input thank you
Can you put 18-inch amplified speakers and what impedance these speakers should handle each one
Spot on tutorial. Golden for those of us nostalgics still sticking to Logic 9
2019 and this help a alot
Easier way today: in piano roll, Functions > Time Handles. Have Smart Snap on. Draw in some grid-size notes without gaps (e.g. 5 quaters). Then, make a precise selection to their borders with Time Handles and shrink/stretch the selection to the length you need, e.g. half measure to create a 5-tuplet.
michaos1 what about a 16th note 5-tuplet instead of a 8th note?
@@iamnealcain do the same thing but squeeze them twice as much. Time handles is a quicker way than MIDI transform. Also, you can use sheet editor and type in N tuplets, but it’s very tricky too.
Would you happen to know how to do crescendos and decrecendos as well?
@@iamnealcain sure thing, press ‘A' to show Note velocity in Piano roll. Hold mouse and drag to create crescendo ramps.
michaos1 But what if I’m trying to create accurate dynamic markings as far as like piano mezzo piano forte and so forth?
Music ruined it
Is this music from regular show?
Behringer U-Phoria UMC404HD Audiophile 4x4, 24-Bit/192 kHz USB Audio/MIDI Interface with MIDAS Mic Preamplifiers
One of the best !!! I've learned so much!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!!
do i have to connect both of them on a socket? Cause a friend of mine got the KRK speakers and he connects only one to the socket and both play normal...
im a little confused. why would you want the peaks in the siblancen to compress the entire track? so that even the guitar and other tones from the voice dip down like that? don't you want to de-ess and not de-the whole track? how is no one hearing what is happening? i must be missing something. the free de-esser in logic does what de-essing is supposed to do. this method just ruins the entire audio signal when the siblance peaks. you're taking all the information within the 2.5-5k range and treating it like siblance but it's not!
Why does the video look like it's running at below 20 fps??
Do you have the source code to this?
name the last song ?
Simple, to the point. Effective. Thanks.
Thank you Sir. Lots more on out website - ww.themusicespionage.co.uk
Good video; Thanks!
whats the diff between the Hs8 and the Hs80
The HS8s are basically the newest model. Link to review below, seems "the differences are barely noticeable"! www.reddit.com/r/audioengineering/comments/1fnbox/hs8_vs_hs80m/
I have a Macbook Pro Retina and a Native Instruments Komplete Audio 6 (interface) - Can someone please tell me how I would connect these up? I want to buy these or the HS7s or HS5s
You should be able to set-up the audio output from the laptop through the Komplete Audio 6 (interface), the speaker would then simply be connected to the outputs from here. Hope that helps. Thanks
most importantly make sure you can get your beer*
Yeah! Forget the tea!
You'd be much better off feeding the side chain channel into a multiband compressor targeted to the same region so that you are ONLY ducking the esses band spectrum and not the full frequency spectrum. That sounds considerably more natural than this method.
so if you want to replace most of the drum set you will have multiple software instruments in your session? i can't seem to do that with my computer it is not powerful enough . i m looking to getting a new one in the near future.
www.google.gr/search?q=clicks+pops+and+noise&oq=clicks+pops+and+noise&aqs=chrome..69i57&sourceid=chrome&es_sm=93&ie=UTF-8#q=clicks+pops+and+noise+focusrite
this thing totally sucks clicks pops and noise is all that you can get from it
+Kostas Tournas probably need to check your buffer rate settings on your software
Thanks man this really helped me out ALOT and you teach really well, to the point and clearly with example, thanks man
Top geez !
brilliant tutorial, thanks.
Thank you sooooo much for this.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
thanks a lot. i had no idea the inputs were multi. very informative video overall, like!
this is the best ducking with compression vid i've seen, thanks so much
do u need an xlr adapter to plug in a guitar?
***** Hello! You can plugin both XLR and Jack leads, don't need an adapter.
Believe it or not, no. You actually plug it in the little circle that's situated on the xlr port.
True! The 2i2 allows both jack and xlr.
Best review .Thank You TheMusicEspionage Thank for video .I am from Indonesian,Lake Toba Sumatran North.Terimakasih.Gbu
You are more than welcome. Please check out the website - The Music Espionage!
TIL Boss DS-1 sounds like poop.
+Soldat boss ds 1 sounds fine in a good amp with an eq after it and a noise suppressor Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 from the other hand sounds like shit and ther's nothing you can you do
thanks very much for the training !
really helped me.thanks.especially the part where you plug in your guitar with the distortion.u shoulld also show how it works to the people that use software "pedals" as in all software amps effects and no hardware
Hey, thanks for the great explanation! And for the analog comparison too (and that's one helluva studio ; )
Thank you very much! Please check out the Music Espionage site....lots more there!
Maybe a silly question but how do you use the headphones jack? When add my headphones into the headphones slot, i cant hear anything in the headphones but can still hear the sound coming through my monitors>? Any thoughts? Thanks
love you
love you
how do you connect to your Pc? please help
Hi! What interface are you using? There is a lot more details on the Music Espionage site, under 'Buyer Guides + Reviews'. Hope this helps.
PLEASE HELP....i have got a new 2i2 interface, i have connected a dynamic mic with XLR cable to input GAIN01 of interface and interface to computer by USB. i have installed all proper drivers. my LED lights are blinking once and shuts off.. and its not taking input signals... PLEASE HELP.
I would find the latest drivers front their site and re-install. Shut down and restart your computer, hopefully that should do it! please keep us posted.
TheMusicEspionage i've read that the input levels for the 2i2 are to loud for guitar input
Yeah! They work really well! Full review on the Music Espionage site.
After checking so many compression tutorials, this one truly got it done for me Thank you.
Agreed!
nice vid dude KUDOS
Thank you very much Sir!
after going through the analog compressor, how do you save the compressed track to logic or the computer ?
Hey there, cool vid. Wondering if you could help me get my plugin suite up & running ? I just got this unit on Sunday. I use Garageband and the plugins are visible in the program but, when click on them it prompts me to use the demo, buy or enter code. The only code I have is the one I used to register the unit and that is not working. Any help would be great. Thanks, Jim.
Hey guys I just got this and I'm using a Shure SM57 into channel #1. Question, when I record and playback, the software is only playing it thru my left monitor. How do I record a song and then get stereo sound like a normal song? Thanks,
In GarageBand (or Audacity), you wanna select MONO audio. Stereo puts it through only one side. Mono means the signal goes through both speakers at the same level. If you have, say, two mics, then just record both together in mono and if you want split them left or right, just move the knob to your preferred side.
whats a good microphone to use with this?
Shure SM57/58 You could pick them up for around a $100 (USD) on eBay with a mic stand and cable included!
Shure Beta 87a
We have a post on top 10 microphone for under £150 (GBP) - www.themusicespionage.co.uk/top-ten-microphones-for-under-150/
AGK C1000 is a good all round condenser microphone to use.
Rode NT1 are a great little microphone and won't break the bank. Good all rounder. Lot more on Microphones here: www.themusicespionage.co.uk/category/top-secret/microphones/
PLEASE HELP... how do i connect the scarlet to a camera with a 3.5mm jack to have audio directly to my caera? All the entry level mixers have those 3 outputs, USB, and the 2 chanels, so how does this thing work? I really don't want to use a mixer (or phantom PSU), but i have to as my Rode NT1-A needs phantom power.....
I would think you'd connect the 2i2 to your camera with the headphone out. Get a cable that has a 1/4" / 6,5mm jack in one end and a 3,5mm jack at the other end (or just adapter plugs, whatever suits you the best). Then with the headphone volume control for the 2i2 control the volume going in to your camera.
***** Nice one! That sounds about right.
